Amber Uno Bead Bracelet
The centrepiece of this bracelet is a large round amber-coloured crafted ball with a green line painted in the middle. Decked on either side with large beads, with carefully painted traditional patterns from the Northern regions of Ghana. Each bracelet is made from scratch by a seasoned artisan, who began her training at a very early age, as is the custom.
Krobo powder glass beads are made in vertical molds fashioned out of a special, locally dug clay. Most molds have a number of depressions, designed to hold one bead each, and each of these depressions, in turn, has a small central depression to hold the stem of a cassava leaf. Each bead and bracelet is lovingly made by seasoned Krobo or Ashanti artisans and is, therefore, unique.
